Jubei was a wandering swordswoman, looking for adventure and glory. She was a tiefling, a horned humanoid with a trace of infernal blood. She was proud of her heritage, and did not care what others thought of her.
Dara was on her way to the town of Vale. She preferred to travel alone, avoiding unnecessary attention and trouble. She was a drow, a dark-skinned elf that was often shunned or feared by other races.
Their paths crossed when Dara heard the sound of steel and shouts in the woods. She followed the noise, and saw Jubei surrounded by a group of bandits, who were trying to rob her.
Dara decided to intervene of altruism and curiosity. She drew her rapier and shortbow, and attacked the bandits from behind. She shot one in the eye, stabbed another in the back, and kicked a third in the groin. The bandits were caught off guard, and soon fell.
Jubei was surprised and grateful for the unexpected help. She thanked Dara. Dara introduced herself, and said she was just passing by. Jubei suggested that the two of them venture together towards Vale, to which Dara accepted.
They decided to travel together for a while, as they both had no fixed destination or plan. They thought they could benefit from each other’s skills and company.
They slept under the stars, keeping a safe distance from each other, but also feeling a warm connection. They did not know what the future would bring, but they were ready to face it together. They had found allies, and maybe something more, in each other..
