Mages

·

In a world where magic is a rare and powerful force, having a mage in one’s group can make a huge difference in any party. A mage can provide various benefits, such as:

  • Enhancing the physical and mental abilities of the group members, such as strength, speed, endurance, and perception.
  • Casting offensive and defensive spells, such as fireballs, lightning bolts, shields, and barriers.
  • Manipulating the elements, such as creating water, wind, earth, and fire.
  • Healing wounds, curing diseases, and restoring vitality.
  • Detecting and dispelling enemy magic, such as illusions, curses, and traps.
  • Communicating telepathically, scrying remotely, and teleporting instantly.

A mage can also offer unique insights, perspectives, and knowledge, as they are often well-versed in history, lore, and arcane secrets.

However, having a mage in one’s group also comes with some challenges, such as:

  • Protecting the mage from physical and magical attacks, as they are usually more vulnerable and valuable than other soldiers.
  • Providing the mage with enough resources, such as mana, herbs, crystals, and scrolls, to fuel their magic.
  • Respecting the mage’s authority, autonomy, and dignity, as they are often proud, independent, and secretive.
  • Balancing the mage’s power, influence, and ambition, as they are often ambitious, curious, and reckless.
