Nimble Escape: The goblin can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.

Sneak Attack (1/Turn): The goblin deals an extra 7 (2d6) damage when it hits a target with a weapon attack and has advantage on the attack roll, or when the target is within 5 feet of an ally of the goblin that isn’t incapacitated and the goblin doesn’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.

ACTIONS
Shortsword: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage.
Shortbow: Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 80/320 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage.

Substitution Jutsu (Recharge 5-6): When the goblin is hit by an attack, it can use its reaction to swap places with a nonmagical object or a willing creature it can see within 15 feet of it. The goblin teleports, swapping places with the target. The attack that triggered this reaction now targets the swapped creature or object instead. If the attack hits a creature, it is subject to the attack’s effects and damage. If the attack hits an object, the object takes the attack’s damage.

Clone Jutsu (Recharge 5-6): The goblin can use its action to create an illusory duplicate of itself. The duplicate has half the goblin’s AC and hit points, but it can’t attack or cast spells. The duplicate lasts until it’s destroyed, until the goblin dismisses it as a bonus action, or until the goblin uses this ability again.

Before Combat Ninja Goblins are masters of stealth and ambush. They prefer to stay hidden, observing their enemies from the shadows. They use their Substitution Jutsu to create decoys and distractions, confusing their enemies about their true location. If possible, they will set traps or create advantageous terrain for themselves.

During Combat In combat, Ninja Goblins are agile and elusive. They use their Nimble Escape to avoid direct confrontations and their Sneak Attack to deal significant damage when the opportunity arises. They constantly move around the battlefield, using their Substitution Jutsu to avoid attacks and keep their enemies guessing.

If Primary Options Aren’t Possible If a Ninja Goblin is unable to hide or if its primary combat strategies are ineffective, it will try to retreat and regroup. Ninja Goblins are intelligent and understand the value of living to fight another day. They might use distractions, smoke bombs, or even hostages to ensure their escape.
