Clearthorn Forest
-On reports by locals and other adventurer guilds, Kelthorn finds himself investigating Clearthorn forest, due to news of an oddity or “anomaly” existing in the vicinity
-It’s immediate to Kelthorn that despite the tranquil scene, the wildlife seems disturbed. It is eerily quiet
-There are the faint noises of pursuit a distance into the right

-The Autumn Elf had been traveling on the path with the others, every so often he would stop and walk off the path only to pick some plantlife from the surroundings
-He looked around, his ears twitching as if he is listening to the forest around him.
-In his hand, a bow appeared as if made from the wind itself
Kelthorn-
“No sounds, that is not good”
“Might be a predator, do not make any sudden movements…”
-He zeroes on the sound of fast movement. First faint, but slowly gaining momentum, and locality. It is approaching his location
—Eventually the movement grows ever close There is a pause, and then a resuming of movement
-Sensing the approaching danger, a chill goes up his spine. With a deep breath, the elf knows that his hiding spot will not save him. So, he focused and looks down to his hand
Kelthorn-
“Come on, focus. Use it, don’t be controlled by it”
-He was concentrating on himself, using magic, perhaps. As he did so, his skin began to move a little bit, his clothes changed.A blackened substance oozed slightly from the side of his lip
Kelthorn- “Still need practice…”
“Yet I still did it, go me”
-wiping away the dark ooze from his lip, he looked down at his hands and feetHe whispered while he planted his feet on a nearby tree and like a monkey, he climbed with ease, as if he was sticking to the tree, then, under a branch he held himself upside down as his bow notched an arrow and pulled back
Kelthorn- “Come on, show yourself, esteemed Hunter”
-Eventually, a visual is made.
Into a clearing within Kelthorn’s view, runs a woman carrying a small child She appears as though she has been sprinting for a time
-Seeing another elf, even if this elf was of the material plane kin it didn’t stop him from pulling his bow back.
Elves can sense each other, thier minds are inheritly magical and they can transmit feelings to each other, it is a thing of comfort for many elves. His concern grew as he threw his bow behind his back and held his hands up
Kelthorn- “Lady Tel-quessir”
“Are you alright? Is something after you?”
-Kelthorn’s hail is met briefly by a pair of piercing pale green eyes. It is a visage of hardship on her face, and grit. As quickly as she notices Kelthorn, her attention focuses on the rapidly approaching rustle of heavier running steps
– “She’s this way!!”
-not understanding what was happening, he understood that whomever this was could not be a good folk for attacking a woman and child. He then said to her
Kelthorn- “Keep going, I’ll slow them down. If I survive, I’ll meet you further down the trail. Go!”
-The woman heeds his words and continues onward with the child. Soon, five men enter the clearing still running
– ” I caught sight of her!!”
-an arrow flies from his bow from the tops of the trees going to strike them. His eyes a yellow like the rising sun focused on his target as he quickly goes to launch another arrow
Kelthorn- “That’s far enough, you’ll not touch her, lest you’d like your balls pierced by my arrow”
-One of the men drops dead from the shot
-seeing that they’re under fire from a stranger, the Bandits shout an alert
-From the tree, since the Bandits seem intent on drawing their weapons to fight. The Elf fires another arrow towards another one of them, the arrow wizzes down toward them. Right after the arrow is fired, Kelthorn runs up the tree and across the branches into the thick overhang of leaves for cover.
-The arrow sinks into one of the men, causing him to shout in agony
– “AgH! I’m hit!!”
-Three of the men switch to their ranged weapons, taking cover behind a tree each. The wounded man hobbles to cover, fumbling for a health potion to drink over the sounds of his previous target gasping down the drink, Kelthorn hears one of the other men shout out
– ” Who are you? Are you in league with that witch!”
Kelthorn-
“Witch?! She is no hag, she is an elf. Explain yourselves”
-The standoff continues as one man runs in the direction which the men came
– “You fool, the elf is sheltering her!!!”
Kelthorn- “You mean the child in her arms?”
-Kelthorn thinks for a moment, he has no trust for humans, but it is possible for a Hag to give birth to human looking children so it wasn’t outside the realm of possibility. After a brief moment of silence Kelthorn responds
Kelthorn-
“If it really is a Hag, then allow me to deal with her. You humans would be outmatched, go home. Consider this my offer of trust, choose your next decision carefully”
–
” The girl is ours! We took this job to get her, and we’re not going back empty handed!!”
“Our guy is already on his way to get the captain and his men, so if you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay out of it!”
Kelthorn- “No matter how you say it, what visually appeared was an elven woman running with a child being chased by multiple humans. Worse, holding a non-threatening child. So go ahead, call your boss, I guarantee I can get to her way before you. And the best part is, I know how to cover my tracks. As of right now, she is long gone, yet I know exactly where she is. Either you can work with me, or I’ll make your “job” a hell of a lot harder”
-The men continue to hold their positions, as Kelthorn sees a clear trail left by the woman
– “All gib and no action you elves are!! Tree hoppers!!!”
Kelthorn- “Strange, I had figured someone who is hunting a witch to be better mannered than this. If you wish to get shot, say something like that again”
-The agitation grows in the grumbles of the men

-Eventually, some more men arrive, with a man wearing a large overcoat
– ” The boss is here!”
– ” They said you guys ran into some trouble?”
Kelthorn- “Doesn’t have to be trouble, but your soldiers were attacking a single elven woman with a child.”
“Anyway, you must be the leader of this troupe. Care to explain yourself?”
– “…Ah. I see.”
“Come and speak with me friend.”
“I’m afriad you have been led astray”
Kelthorn- “I am fine speaking right where I am “friend”. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt by not putting an arrow in each and every one of you”
-The leader chuckles, finding himself a seat as an axe wielding orc investigates the tracks, calling out to the boss “We have tracks here Barry.”
–
“Excellent”
