Kelthorn-

“Woah woah, that was an uncomfortable stop, ouch that hit me right in the wounds”

If it’s the bandits they must be exhausted to chase them this far on foot.

“Runaway? No, no, just a few mundane supplies here. Probably good for the people in the next town, without it, they’d probably suffer without it. Would you let us pass?”

-He looks to Tehisa, and whispers in a low voice

“If you have a plan with getting the kid out of here, let me hear it if things go south. Or else we may be in a bit of a pickle”

-Kelthorn sizes up the obstruction, and finds that the wagon is impeded by a group of highwaymen.

-Fortunately, none are a face he remembers from the group he ecnountered earlier

-their leader guffaws at Kelthorn

“How about we be the judge of if its up to snuff or not, elfie?”

Kelthorn-

“Alright, alright. I admit, you’ve got me stumped. You’ve won the game.”

“But come on now, am I really worth the fuss? You know I can’t get very far with my injuries, and the one you are looking for could be getting away as we speak. Every second spent searching this boy’s wagon, is more time for that lady to get away. All I did was grant her time, right?”

– ” What’s tha elf yappin about?”

-Tehisa carefully slips out of the back of the wagon, offering a hand to the girl

-” That’s what elves do, they yap. shackle em”

Kelthorn- “Wait! If you let me speak, I can tell you about a treasure’s location in exchange for my safety at least. Promise me that, and I will not stop you and let you take the treasure. I promise”

“You are all probably being paid for this job, and if not, I just want to get out of here. You can get what you want, and a lot of money. Doesn’t that sound tempting?”

-The men seem to mull it over before their leader accepts

– “A treasure huh. I guess we can get a bigger catch than some podunk wagon.”

Kelthorn-

“Good, I am glad we can come to a compromise”

“So the treasure is on the outskirts of the nearby town, it’s all of my savings from being a doctor in these parts, it should set one of you up comfortably for life. There is an old birch tree, it lies next to a farmstead alone and without leaves. Can’t miss it. Underneath the tree, under a rock there is the treasure. Deal?”

“uhhhh we aint rememberin all that”

“We’re taking you with us, pointy ears”

Kelthorn-

“Alright, alright as you wish. Let me grab my things, and I will walk you there myself”

-As he bends down, he acts like he is grabbing something. Then, in a moment’s notice. He then flies up, as a long whip appeared as he strikes the back of the horse with it, so it can panic and begin to run straight at the bandits quickly.

“Let’s go! Come on, that will only buy us a few seconds”

-The commotion is immediate as the trio leave the scene, the sound of angry yells and curses erupting

Kelthorn-

“Still think we can reach the Paladins?”

“Or is there anywhere else you have in mind, gah!”

-He cries out slightly in anguish, as running with crossbow holes in his body is very discomforting

Tehisa-

” We should lay low within the near forest. It is our natural advantage as elves, correct?”

Kelthorn—

“Deeper into the forest we go, I have no doubt we can survive. Even if I have my inner doubts, they saw straight through my tatics as a hunter and filled me with more holes than a sea sponge in an instant. Yet, if we cannot hide in the leaves, I’d say nature will defend us. The troupe may not enter deep into the woods knowing the dangers. But my main concern is her”

-He pats the little girl on the head

“We have what it takes to survive the elements, but she is very young, I worry”

“And she is human, we have that advantage but she does not”

Tehisa- ” Is there another course we have?”

Kelthorn-

“I do like the idea of using the forest, but not to lay low, the humans will be likely to follow our tracks. But, we know certain paths that they are ignorant to. I’d say let’s create false tracks leading into the more dangerous parts of the forest, then, we should double back around the long way towards another neighboring town. Given our current path in the wagon, it is likely they will send some of their own to watch that destination. Do you know any other towns near to other than the Krossian Settlement?”

“Preferably, elvish if possible”

Tehisa-

” We could make for the town of Myst instead. It’s a more reclusive locale.”

“There is also the city of Olessa. They have the second largest paladin order in the land”

Kelthorn-

“Whichever one is closer, the little one needs real food and warmth”

Tehisa- ” To Myst then”

-As the duo finish preparing an excellent set of fake tracks,

Tehisa- ?

-The girl points at a dark patch within the forest

Tehisa- ” Is there something there…?”

Kelthorn— “What do you see?”

-He isn’t immediately off put, he looks in the direction to see what she is looking at. He is not immediately frightened because generally most animals are small and non-threatening in nature, so his first reaction to her point wasn’t threat

-Kelthorn senses something slowly encroaching their space from the point the girl gestured towards

Kelthorn-

“Let me go see, stay here”

“Pst, Nyd untasen fear, phe rema harm”

-The presence continues to inch closer

Kelthorn-

“Who’s there, come out or I’ll consider you a threat”

-The presence feels mere inches from Kelthorn

Kelthorn-

“Tehisa, can you see anything?”

“Where are you?”

-Kelthorn hears Tehisa draw breath, and begin the start of a reply, but, all at the same time, from the moment the presence makes contact with him, to the moment Tehisa speaks, Everything assails his senses at once

He finds himself in a much different forest
