Great twist 👏 — let’s rerun the encounter with the Mistress at full power but this time she uses her Children of the Night ability to summon wolves (2d4 → we’ll average to 6 wolves). They arrive by round 2 and fight alongside her.

Samurai blades are still magical, so they can harm her.

  • Regeneration 20/round.
  • Summons 6 wolves at Round 2.

Round 1

  • Mistress: Opens with Charm on Elder — he fails, lowers blade.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader, Stoic Master, Veteran strike hard (31 dmg).
    • Trickster cuts (6 dmg).
    • Brash Youth and Idealist both hit (18 dmg).

Mistress at ~115 after regen.


Round 2

  • Mistress: Calls the Children of the Night → 6 wolves burst into the field, snarling and circling.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader kills one wolf instantly.
    • Stoic Master wounds another.
    • Trickster and Veteran focus Mistress (21 dmg).
    • Brash Youth slays another wolf.
    • Idealist misses.

Mistress at ~114 after regen (damage offset). Wolves: 4 left.


Round 3

  • Mistress: Grapples Brash Youth and Bites (21 dmg necrotic, max HP reduced). He staggers badly.
  • Wolves: 2 harry the Idealist, one bites Elder (restrained by charm, he doesn’t fight back), one lunges at Trickster. Total: 14 dmg spread out.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader kills another wolf.
    • Stoic Master cuts Mistress (13 dmg).
    • Veteran and Trickster slash her for 19 more.
    • Idealist wounds a wolf.

Mistress at ~102 after regen. Wolves: 3 left.


Round 4

  • Mistress: Charms Trickster — he fails save, falters.
  • Wolves: Bite at Idealist again (down to 10 HP). One drags him to the ground.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader cleaves two wolves apart in fury.
    • Veteran injures the last wolf.
    • Stoic Master scores a deep strike on Mistress (15 dmg).
    • Brash Youth, half-dead, still slashes (9 dmg).
    • Trickster stands frozen, charmed.

Mistress at ~96 after regen. Wolves: 1 left.


Round 5

  • Mistress: Claws the Stoic Master for 18 dmg.
  • Wolf: Bites Idealist unconscious.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader kills the last wolf.
    • Veteran lands a hit (12 dmg).
    • Stoic Master retaliates (14 dmg).
    • Brash Youth misses.
    • Trickster still charmed.

Mistress at ~90 after regen.


Round 6

  • Mistress: Attempts Charm on Leader — he resists with Indomitable.
  • Samurai:
    • Leader + Stoic Master + Veteran: furious trio assault (43 dmg total).
    • Brash Youth, fading, slashes (8 dmg).

Mistress at ~75 after regen.


Round 7

  • Mistress: Misty Steps away, tries to isolate the Brash Youth, then claws him — he collapses unconscious.
  • Samurai: Leader and Stoic Master chase her down, landing 25 dmg.

Mistress at ~70 after regen.


Round 8

  • Mistress: Bites the Stoic Master (22 dmg necrotic, max HP reduced).
  • Samurai: Leader rallies with a critical strike (28 dmg), Veteran slashes (11 dmg).

Mistress at ~71 after regen.


Round 9–10

The fight grinds. Without wolves, it’s just her regeneration vs. their teamwork.

  • Trickster shakes off charm and rejoins, striking true.
  • Idealist makes a death save and is stabilized.
  • Brash Youth is dragged back by Elder once charm lifts.

Finally, the Leader + Veteran + Stoic Master + Trickster combine blows that overwhelm her.

She drops to 0 HP and enters Misty Escape.


🎭 Outcome

  • Mistress escapes in mist form.
  • Wolves are slain.
  • Samurai battered:
    • Brash Youth and Idealist unconscious but stable.
    • Stoic Master drained by the bite.
    • Elder & Trickster suffered charm but freed after.
    • Leader and Veteran: bloodied, but they held the line.

They win the field battle, but the Mistress is not destroyed — her coffin still awaits.

    • Trickster leaps back in, quick slash 8 dmg.
    • Elder joins in, 7 dmg.

Total Samurai dmg: 47 → Mistress at ~44 HP after regen.


⚔️ Round 10

  • Mistress: Attempts Charm on Leader — he resists again. Furious, she claws Elder (17 dmg, Elder left at 5 HP).
  • Samurai Counter:
    • Leader crits (25 dmg).
    • Veteran cuts her across the torso (12 dmg).
    • Trickster lands a precision thrust (10 dmg).
    • Elder barely manages a weak strike (4 dmg).

Total: 51 dmg. → Mistress at ~14 HP after regen.


⚔️ Round 11

  • Mistress: Desperate now, she Misty Steps backward, attempting to grapple the bleeding Elder to finish him. Grapple succeeds → Bite (18 dmg). Elder dies outright, neck torn open.
  • Samurai Counter:
    • Leader roars and charges, cutting her for 18 dmg.
    • Veteran slashes, 11 dmg.
    • Trickster finishes with a precise cut across her chest (12 dmg).

Mistress reduced to 0 HP again → transforms into mist form.


☠️ Aftermath

  • Mistress: Escapes as black vapor, retreating toward her coffin. Unless the samurai know to pursue immediately with holy rites, she will regenerate and rise again.
  • Samurai Casualties:
    • Dead: Elder (fed upon, slain).
    • Unconscious: Stoic Master, Brash Youth, Idealist (but stable).
    • Standing: Leader, Veteran, Trickster.
  • The battlefield is littered with wolf corpses, samurai blood, and fading black mist.

⚖️ Verdict: With magical weapons, the Seven Samurai can force the Mistress into retreat — but the cost is one dead comrade and several others incapacitated. Unless they track her to her coffin, the threat is not truly ended.
